a waterbird habitat someday

The southern fence line of our property coincides with a deep gully which follows a steep slope. I estimate that it drops about 15 metres from the top of the property right down to the bottom. The lowest part of the property is in the south-eastern corner. The fern faery fen is hidden in the lowest part of the fern forest that hugs the gully. Next to that secluded corner is this area of cleared land which I reckon could be scooped out and levelled to make a waterbird habitat – a large pond/small dam, with a level shaded area for sitting and contemplating.
Of course, the space will need to be wheelchair accessible. More about that in another post.
