compulsory acquisition?

We have been alerted to the State government’s plan to upgrade the rail line between Landsborough and Nambour. At this stage, all we know is that our property is within the ‘zone of interest’ and may ultimately be acquired for the building of the new line.

We have decided to cease all modifications on the house and property and make do with what we have as Christopher’s special needs are mostly being met in the current circumstances, and a compulsory acquisition, while supposedly at ‘market value’ is not likely to incorporate monies spent on, eg., bathroom modifications, etc.

We are attending a public information meeting in Mooloolah on Dec 1st and expect to hear which is the preferred rail corridor by early 2008.

A bit unsettling, as we have just begun to put down roots here after 6 months. It will be a major re-adjustment for us all if we now have to move again within the next year or two.

  1. Unreal – hope they find another route but, know of a good place to live if the train runs through. Will break the news gently to Pa – all that mulch in wheelbarrows!

    Love, Mum

  2. Oh…um…Crap
