Brooks’ Opinion – the passing of an era?

I always enjoy (and only ever partially agree with) the opinions of New York Times Op-Ed columnist David Brooks.

If I were a US citizen today, Obama and the Democrats would have my vote. Yet, as a young baby boomer myself, I found today’s piece by Brooks (“A Date With Scarcity”) timely as the US presidential election unfolds and Australia faces similar dynamics.

One good line as a teaser: “We’re probably entering a period…in which smart young liberals meet a stone-cold scarcity that they do not seem to recognize or have a plan for.”
