School Camp

ucI can think of nothing worse than going to a camp when I was at school, so fortunately I never had to.  But, our girl is home now after being at school camp since Monday – her first camp. She seems to have had a great time, finished up nowhere near as tired and crotchetty as I thought she might be, and happy to head off again next year.

The teachers/leaders did an excellent job from what I can tell – well organised, skillful management of about 60 kids in Yr 6 – 9 (BIG age range), and they seem to have actually had fun! The camp was at Alexandra Headlands at the fantastic UC Conference Centre. The kids enjoyed canoeing, high ropes course, bush walking, some science activities, and beach time, all around an ABBA (Mama Mia) theme.  A CD of photographs of camp highlights is supplied and everyone gets a printed t-shirt with the camp logo.

Anyway, we are all together again for Easter.
