lost & found

reptile parkbrown treeA juvenile Brown Tree Snake (sometimes called the Doll’s Eye snake) found its way into the groundfloor apartment we were staying in at Agnes Water. We walked in after a meal at the restaurant and Tamara almost stepped on it in the middle of our bedroom floor.

I caught it in a plastic bag and took it to the girl at reception so the owners could see what it was. They were somewhat horrified and had me transfer it to this bright yellow bucket until identified.

It is weakly venomous and coincidentally we had seen a fully grown one that very morning in Childers at the Reptile park we visited on our way to Agnes Water. (No. The one I’m holding is a beautiful carpet python).
