legs 11

frogThis tiny frog which is almost all hind legs somehow came to grief here today. It was deceased (pining for the Fjords) when I came upon it.

You can see how small it is next to the $2 coin, but looking at its jumping legs, I’m guessing it could cover a couple of metres with each jump.

Anyone know what species it is?

ps. having just scanned the ‘ozanimals’ website, I believe it must be an Eastern Dwarf Tree Frog – “The Eastern Sedgefrog is the smallest tree frog (in SE Qld). Also known as the Eastern Dwarf Treefrog. It grows to just 25mm long. It is very common in suburban gardens, although can be hard to spot.”
