Mooloolah River Forest

Yesterday, Catherine and I explored the Melaleuca Forest Walk along the Mooloolah River just a few minutes from here. The background traffic noise from nearby Steve Irwin Way was a bit off-putting, and it is only a short walking track – about 2 km – but it is a beautiful chunk of ancient rainforest. It has been a really dry winter, so I plan to return next time the river is in flood, as I’m sure the place is transformed after good rain. Click on pics for a closer look.
